Took the day off to spend in Galveston with spouse who is on Big Cheese State Foundation Board, doing a site visit for an applicant. Nice folks and great seafood lunch on the water. Having completed this mission, we rolled car windows down, removed dressy jackets, slipped on more comfortable shoes and headed for the beach. Wandered through the souvenir shops and purchased several trinkets for granddaughters before heading over to the ferry. Gentle breezes and jumping dolphins made our ferry ride the traditionally relaxing Galveston excursion. As usual, there were a number of foreign tankers anchored in the bay awaiting their turn to sail up the Ship Channel into our fair port city. Luke was right; we both need to sloooowwww down.

Arrived back home in time to receive Grandog for weekend dog-sitting. This is the sweetest little pup who looks like a beagle but whose legs have grown straight up as quickly and to be as tall as Pinocchio’s nose was long! She looks like a gangly teenager now. Lexy loves having the company outside although Lexy is pretty much an indoor dog now. Fabulous college age stepdaughter has taught Lexy how to Shake! Very cool. I know, I know, this former cats-only person is just too silly about this dog. But, really, she is the best dog..............
