My mind, wandering through early morning drowsiness, decided it would be fun to do a D list to summarize these last few days. So here goes………

Doctor – As has become the routine, my appointment led to the need for more appointments. I don’t know about anyone else but just trying to find time to make the appointment and then keep the appointment then go to the lab to be told to make another appointment keeps me Dizzy.

Determined – The attitude of my grandson’s team as they won yet another game Friday evening. Both boys are on winning teams headed for the playoffs. Each seems talented in several positions and each star at least once in each game.

Dignity – What the play, Four Songs in the Key of Love, detailing the resilience, beauty, meaning and worth of womanhood, was all about this afternoon. Tough to watch at times, primarily because we’ve all known the women in this play. We’ve felt powerless to help them, sadness when they’ve been lost or brutalized and joy when they’ve (re)discovered their own God-given worth and value. Best was watching my wonderful son’s talented behind-the-scenes theatrical lighting skills and knowing again that he’s still the best visual technician ever.

Desirous – the outcome of my precious goddaughter’s surgery for first stage melanoma last Monday.

Dessert – what I had too much of at Brennan’s jazz brunch with friends this morning after church.

Discovery – Planning our Mediterranean cruise next fall with those same friends; my first visit to Europe!

Drat! – Time to get those flu shots again. Thank goodness our church made it easy and lined us up this morning.

Defense and Domination – UH’s pounding 34-17 victory over UT-EP last night. We have season tickets on the 4th row, 50 yd line. Yep. Our Defense ruled. We’re now back in the running for the West Division title. Over 18,000 fans showed up. I love Robertson Field with the strategically placed swaying palm families in each corner of the stadium. It really reminds one of our proximity to the coast.

Delightful – Laughing throughout dinner Friday evening with friends visiting from Williamsburg, Virginia. They love their new home there which, they say, comes with the world’s best neighbors. My friend is already in training to be a guide for Colonial Williamsburg – I feel a Christmas in Williamsburg coming on soon.

Delirious – Getting gas yesterday for $1.94 a gallon. Never thought I’d see it under $2 again.

Now that was Darn fun!
