Mother’s surgery went well. Seems corneal transplants are in the mainstream these days. We drove to the Medical Center this morning to hear one of her three eye specialists say that she is doing well and no longer has to wear the eye patch. She was thrilled! She can even see some shapes and colors out of that eye – first time in years. Everyone thought she would have to wear the protective patch longer, perhaps as long as four months, but she’s taken such good care of her eye that the doctor released her from this chore. If you can remember Lucy wallpapering herself to the wall you have a picture of Mother trying to tape that patch on her eye several times a day. She actually fell out of her chair in one attempt! We are all relieved that the patch days are over. And that her vision is slowly returning.

For those who knew of the biopsy: Results came back negative. She’s fine. Hallelujah!
