When I found out that Pops hadn’t had a birthday party in 45 years I knew we had to do something! So this afternoon, the spell was broken and 30+ friends gathered for a Tropics in February birthday party complete with crab claws, shrimp, macadamia nuts, mango-chutney sauces, and more food and drink that should be able to be imagined stretched over 3 rooms and the outdoor deck by the pool. We had his very favorite cake, a three-tiered carrot cake from Dessert Gallery. Everyone came into this tropical plant filled house and yard wearing their best Hawaiian shirts and sandals. Guests received leis as they arrived and gifts as they departed. Great music, wonderful friends, a good time was had by all. Who says winter has to get you down?!

Note: the flowers are still thriving on tables and mantles all over this house!
