After some organizational settling of things and sightseeing in Reynosa, Corpus and Rockport a few weeks ago it has been good to settle back down to routine at home. My work schedule has been a little harried and Bill's has been even more so. H-town's been getting our daily April showers here in June/July. We console ourselves that at least we shouldn't have to endure any kind of summer drought this year. Been trying to play supportive role to goddaughter over these last couple of weeks in obstacles she's been facing - she's such a wonderful young person but still, life deals its blows.
Godson in New York continues to love the Big Apple and all it offers. Excitment building for nephew's upcoming wedding in Michigan. I really do wish we all lived closer but I think most relationships have now adjusted to distance elements via emails, texts, phone calls.

The Sudanese family we are responsible for helping get settled continues to...well....settle in. While I remained home under the weather this morning, Bill picked them up at their Montrose apt. and provided transportation to church and back. We're working on getting them bus passess so they feel a little more independenent and mobile. At this point, I think the joy of reconcilliation of Peter's family after 8 years of refugee camps and separations just nearly overwhelms them. Feels very humbling to be able to play even a small part in helping them create a new life here.
