Ok, well, I'm really not avoiding the music download thing. I've explored some more possibilities and methods the last two days and have discovered the problem (I think). Computer guru David was here yesterday and instructed me to run, don't walk, to Best Buy and have them replace my car's CD system with one that plays Cd's/MP3's. Seem everything I'm wanting to download comes in MP3 format - unlike five or six years ago when I downloaded music right onto my CD-R and popped it right into my CD player. This is a little younger than I'd planned on becoming techno illiterate. I remember when oldest daughter gifted me with a Nora Jones concert recording a couple of years ago and I tried and tried to play it on my CD player only to find silence upon each attempt. When I finally, embarrassed, suggested she might want to exchange it for one that would "work", she curiously tilted her head sideways (think Cocker spaniel) and said, "But Mom, it's a DVD." The she politely excused herself so I wouldn't be subject to the stiffled giggles coming from the next room.

Years ago, I remember defending myself in a family "discussion" saying something along the lines of we needed a computer like the Osmonds needed a cavity fighter. Now the youngest of my grandchildren are moving their little mice around and connecting to Sesame links. Lord knows, I'm trying to keep up but it sure was easier when at least one of the kids lived at home. At least then, it was a fair trade. I could instruct them how to turn the washer and dryer on.
