I feel so blessed for every day I get to spend with grandchildren - especially when they surprise me with a whole day visit. If you haven't eaten at a Johnny Rockets cafe lately, you're missing it. I love the 1950's decor, dancing waiters, and complete with soda fountain and tabletop jukeboxes playing your favorites for a nickle. The kids love it! On to Pier One Kids for shopping; a store closing all its locations across the country in October. Great bargains. Then it's off to Build-A-Bear where I have always wanted to go - what fun! Watched the experienced ones go to it, busy filling and dressing one monkey and one pink cat with more accessories than I could count. Finished just in time to see movie Underdog - laugh-out-loud treat. On to the Museum of Natural Science to explore dinosaur excavations and bat skeletons before dinner.

Also of note: Oldest grandson made his first public guitar-playing concert appearance at Willie nelson's place in Austin last week. Lots of family and friends and best of all, Uncle Matt and Anya cheering him on. He was cruisin' with a crush on the lead singer the first two days then that cooled. Have a DVD of his performance which was nothing short of amazing!
