Mother had a heart attack Tuesday evening - tried to calm her (and me) while ambulance called. Ambulance driver tells us where to meet them. We go. No one comes. Call Police. Police say there was no ambulance pickup at her address that evening. On a hunch call big nearby major hospital (where I would have expected them to take her) to find that she had been admitted there nearly an hour before we arrived. Nurse son-in-law works in that emergency room and was taking good care of her. Oldest daughter drove like a maniac here and stayed with Mother until tonight when they headed back home to Austin. Oldest son talking with her via phone. Other daughter cancelled work meeting to come check on her. Doctor wants to release her tomorrow....we think it's too early...expecting an arm wrestling match with the doctor in the morning.
