2009-05-22 7:27 PM Chicago Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (1) |
Glad to see the end of a short but intense 3-day work week. We celebrated by boarding a flight to Chicago and preparing to enjoy 5 days of fun, relaxation and family!
Arrived in Chi Town late yesterday afternoon, settled into the hotel and taxied over to the Bank of America theatre to see Jersey Boys. Now, this is important because I kept missing it even during its long run in Houston and have been nursing a pretty serious resentment about that. That 'missing' has been a sore spot - or was it more about that blank space on my 'must do before I die' list beside See Jersey Boys Stage Musical? Whatever, it was more than worth the wait - just wild and wonderful! This morning we met Gregg and Anne at the Chicago Art Institute to tour the newly opened Modern Wing - newly opened as in 'this week' newly opened. Cool, trendy modern architecture, the largest expansion the museum has undertaken. Loved the Cy Twombly exhibit almost as much as Gregg likes Monet and Renoir! Next door Millenium Park, also having undergone some additions / renovations was providing non-stop entertainment for crowds of families laughing and photographing themselves in the reflections of the chrome sculpture. Back to the hotel to rest - watched the movie Taken which was way intense before changing and heading out for an evening dinner and dancing cruise departing from Navy Pier. Looking forward to those beautiful evening skyline views of the city from the lake and the Navy Pier fireworks. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
