This past week, I had this incredible experience. I think it was that much more incredible coming off a 2 week whirlwind, or I should say hellwind, where I quit a long-term job with General Motors where I was doing 3 jobs only 1 person should do. Once I told them I wasn't super admin, I was able to focus again on the real reason why I'm in NY in the first place.

Anywho...this past monday through saturday, I took a week-long intensive class with Caryn West at Michael Howard Studios here in New York. Caryn generously flies in twice a year to Michael Howard to give this amazing "Audition Skills" workshop...which as many of her students and I discussed, they were not only audition skills, but life skills and perspectives. What made the class particularly effective for me was not only the content and our super duper teacher, but the other students. It's been a while since I've been in a class where your fellow peers are genuinely as involved in their own process as in everyone elses. There were only HEALTHY egos...a rare find in the acting world. I realized that the last class I felt this way was when I took the Patsy Rodenburg Class at Michael Howard Studios over a year ago. Clearly...the caliber of this school with it's nurtering expectations keeps the journey in every actors soul that much more alive. For that and for Caryn, I'm incredibly grateful.

If you live in LA where Caryn coaches, you should grab her before she gets too famous and won't have time to do coachings. Believe me, this is an opportunity you don't want to miss!
