2006-06-29 10:14 AM What Jan + means to me... Read/Post Comments (0) |
As of late, I have noticed anyone with the name Janet or Janice that have come into my life are supremely awesome people. It's weird. How can so many people with the same name all be so compatible with me. There's Janet (my sister in law), Janice (my line-dancing girl), Janice (my tailor who LOVES me), Janet (a girl I recently met at a party who is one of the most genuine people there), and a few others but my heads starting to spin so I think I'm going to stop. Maybe if I met a guy named Jan or Jane he'd be my soulmate...he might come with issues though...
So, I had an audition on Tuesday for what I thought going in was a film short and a comedy. I was hit with a wonderful surprise when I was told it was a dramatic feature and he wanted me to read for the lead. That's always nice to hear! The role is a Homeless Woman who lives her life choosing to be homeless ( I don't know if anyone really chooses to be homeless but that's a whole other issue all together). The director was a real stand up guy. He seems to be an actors director and is definately more interested in the story and human condition than line readings and what looks "cool" on screen. Which was a nice change from the commercial audition I did a few days ago. So, we'll see. On the other side of the homeless spectrum, I had an audition yesterday for a Narrative Music Video for the Coalition for the Homeless. I was being considered for the "rich girl's" mother which is a supposting role but gets a good bit of air time. So, that's me so far in a nutshell. Things have been reeling along.
