2004-05-29 11:47 AM Rear view sunset for Safiyah ok, saf, i'll get to your sunset in just a sec, first i wanna say, damn, i love my husband. are you guys getting tired of me saying that? sorry, but some days it just overtakes me really hard and today is one of those days. i'm all tingly and i feel like i did when we first started dating. it's hard to believe that after nearly 12 years, i love the man even more than i did back then. how is that possible?
ok, saffy, i had to pick carole up yesterday from work. a nice 30 minute drive down one of our demolition highways. where she works is just a few miles from the lake and i was hoping like hell, that i'd be able to see the sunset over the water. but, alas, it was still a bit too soon when we left and then the traffic on that side of the highway was so backed up that i opted for the backway home through cute little north carolina towns. but as we pulled on one of the last roads to home, the sunset filled my rear view mirror. the whole sky behind me was simply the most beautiful pinkish-red...streaks of linear blue grey clouds gave it a stratrum effect. it's been a long time since i've seen the sky like that, and it was one of the most beautiful sights. my husband and sister in law thought i was quite mad for my obsession. when i die, i want a viking funeral. put me on a boat, light me up, and send me flaming off into the sunset. i just can't think of a better way to go.
