2005-10-21 10:26 AM Thursday was a good day and i didn't even have to use my a.k.
well, i had me a little birthday money and sis in law was kind enough to loan me her ride for the day, so i headed to the mall to spend my dough. for just about the last year, i've been wearing my old jeans which were three or four sizes too big for me. i've dropped about thirty pounds over that time. no, i didn't do it intentionally, it's just one of the "great" perks of having a painful and embarrassing intestinal disease. god love old navy, that's for sure. i swear they make their jeans bigger with a smaller sized tag so that woman can feel great about wearing a smaller size. i actually bought size 10's, a size i haven't worn since my first marriage when i weighed about 125 lbs (i weigh about ten lbs more than that now). lordy, i've forgotten what it's like to wear jeans that actually fit. man, just like a great hair cut, it does make a woman feel good. i saw a beautiful skirt i would have loved to bought, but it was too much and with winter coming, i had to be more practical with my measily amount of money. why is it that it costs more to dress like a woman than it does to dress like a man? moving right along, weeeeee'rrrrre back. yep, last night was trivia night and it came down(as usual) to the last question. before the 100 point bonus question, we were twenty points behind. luckily for us, my husband worked on a potato farm as a boy, so we got the question right, the other guy missed it, ergo, we WON! not only did we win the $50 gift certificate, but also, two beer signs(which we gave away), a key chain, and two lovely Rose's Cocktail Infusion necklaces that light up(Sam and I's validation that we were indeed No 1). ok, folks, test your knowledge...here's a few of the questions... What AFL quarterback was the first to win a Super Bowl Championship? A. Joe Montana B. Joe Nammeth C. Bart Starr D. Roger Stauback What year was Nelson Mandela released from prison? A. 1989 B. 1999 C. 1978 D. 1990 Birdland in NY is named for what jazz great? A. Charlie Parker B. Dizzy Gilespie C. Louie Armstrong D. Miles Davis What expansion team was allowed to draft players from the Minnesota North Stars? A. New Jersey Devils B. Charlotte Checkers C. Hartford Whalers D. San Jose Sharks The song "Tea for Two" comes from what Broadway musical? A. A Corus Line B. No, No, Nannette C. My Fair Lady D. GiGi Here's the question that won us all the glory(that's sarcasm there folks)... What color does a potato turn when exposed to light? A. Black B. Brown C. Green D. Yellow okie dokie, no cheating now. i'll give the answers after you've posted yours. see you guys...gotta go meet my new kitty clients.
