2006-08-16 9:35 AM What took me so long? omg, yesterday i was trying to work on some of my things, and internet explorer was being its usual worthless, diva self. i couldn't get the site to work. seeing as we'd just redone the whole computer a week or so ago, i was pissed to say the least.
i hate to do anything "with" the computer. i don't like downloading or installing. i rather like acting like a clueless girl, cocking my head to one side and saying in my thickest, softest, scarlett ohara drawl, "i'm a delicate flower. i don't know anything about those little ole computers" we used to be netscape people, hubby believing with all his heart that bill gates is indeed the anti-christ. but netscape began adding all this stuff and by the time they got to version 7.whatever, it was slow and laborous and quite frankly, confusing. it was no longer my son's mother's netscape so we switched to IE. i'd been threatening to do it for awhile and yesterday, when the red haze covered my green eyes (which, as all you art types knows, when mixed evenly together makes an ugly "non-color" similar to reguritated brown mud), i decided to bite the proverbial bullet, and download firefox. the first surprise, was the download. from download to installation it only took about ten minutes, including moving my favorites from IE. OMG, i can't believe how much better it is. it's so much faster and websites actually WORK now. i'm sorry, i'm sorry i doubted everyone. no more browser crashes. no more stalled pages, no more waiting for pages to load. i was a little worried when hubby installed his java/yahoo crap into it, but it didn't seem to slow down that much. i now bow down to the firefox guys. honestly, if you don't have firefox, you should!
