2008-03-28 3:38 PM more decisions... well, i got my two photos from zazzle and i can see the slight ever so slight resolutions problems. so i'm thinking a judge will to.
as i've never entered such a contest, i don't know how closely they look. do they take a magnifying glass to each one (cause if they do, those two would be out, definitely, i can see the poor resolution, but i'm looking hard to see it, so will they?) but damn, that gazebo in spring photo is unbelievable. i really can't believe i took that shot. i can't believe i took the brass and glass one either. i have my entries narrowed to a few, but lordy, i suck with decisions, really, i do. i hate them. i still have a few days, saw the 8x10 examples of a few...so i have it narrowed down to a couple. and yay, big yay, i convinced the boy to go to the beach with me tomorrow morning (ponte verda) and i'm hoping to get a few good shot from there as well. that's all i need is to add to my decision process. but considering i haven't been able to force the z out of his room for a little bit, that it will be a good thing. plus, the clouds have really come out today, so i think a trip to shand's pier or the other side of shand's bridge might be in order tonight to try and capture the perfect sunset over the st. john's river. i like quite a few of my shots tho, so i'm thinking about maybe opening a booth at the st. augustine farmers' market to try and sell a few. yes, they are simple but if you go into a hobby lobby, wal mart or micheal's you'll spend just as much for less. prints are fairly cheap, and so are frames, so i should be able to make my money back plus a few extra bucks profit. i just wish i had spent the money on a better camera. and it seems my old camera is just about as good as my new one, minus the night time settings and close ups. oh, and btw, my "parking lot preacher" was actually in our neighborhood today. because the laundry closest to me was full and busy, i went to the other one on the other side of the property. low and behold, there he was, walking up and down one of our streets shouting his sermon. so when i got back, i had a few (45 mins) before my laundry would be done. i was hoping he would be there when i got back so i could ask him if i could take a pic of him (what an interesting pic it would be too) i was even willing to donate a few bucks to him for the pleasure of doing so, tho i doubt he takes donations, and would almost guarantee he doesn't...unfortunately, when i went back, he was gone. i'm sure i'll catch up with him somewhere... ;-) Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
