2008-04-01 3:40 AM a day at the beach well, it was overcast this morning but last night, the local weather said the the clouds would break up around noon. i was determined to go to the beach, regardless.
just as we were getting there, the clouds did finally break, and as you can see, it turned out to be a beautiful day. the pic is looking north towards jacksonville. the other direction, south towards daytona, was still a little cloudy and dark. today was a good day for surfers too, the waves were really crashing and high (for this far up the atlantic) first we went to ponte verda...apparently, that's just a nice, expensive beach town...the pga headquarters is there (i believe) i couldn't find the actual ponte verda public beach part, tho we turned south on a1a towards st. augustine, and it may have been the other direction. but we stopped (yay, z-man went with) at the same spot on south ponte verda, where i did last week. there were a few more people out...and z said he thought the beach was crap (because it's the chewed up shells) then we drove on down and hit st. augustine beach. man, great day...very nice. and really, it's just a beautiful beach. up on the horizon, all we could see was a thick mist/fog. i tried to get some shots of surfers, but i wasn't quick enough (and they didn't stay up very long) it was just my good fortune that as i stopped to take this shot, the little girl who had been trailing behind her mom (her dad was behind her) stopped for a second to play in the sand as i was about to take my shot. great day, and i so love the beach... ;-) Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
