2008-07-12 5:01 PM i'm a happy camper now we just had a vicious storm roll through, and storms always make me feel better.
i took pictures, of course. the palms were whipping violently. i stood in my bedroom's patio door and tried to catch a lightening strike. i'm just not quick enough and for awhile the lightening must have been on the back side of my apartment, which i can't see. and then when it did move to the front, it was just a few strikes and i had already given up the ghost, so i missed them. then when i tried again, it again had moved. i got soaked standing in the doorway, but who cares. it rained so hard, so fast that our street flooded. one girl came down it in her mustang and the water was about three inches above the bottom of her front spoiler. most of the other folks that tried it had suvs. it's all gone now, but i guess the storm drain two blocks up just couldn't handle the rapid rainfall. holy moley...i still have my patio doors open and i just glanced outside and saw the top of a cruise ship go by. the port is to the north (kind of northeast) of me and i knew it was close, but not that close. i've never seen that before! i've yet to wander down that direction. they have several restaurants, and jetty park is down there with bike/hiking trails and picnic areas. i think within the next few days i'll go down there and get some shots. might be nice to try at sunset. hope one and all are having a lovely saturday. ;-) Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
