2008-11-07 10:32 AM Can't help but LOL well, you know, i visit various political blogs through entrecard. they are highly entertaining and sometimes the snarky is just a riot. For some reason tho, the right wing blogs seem to be more uh, hateful, than funny.
so in strolling through the blogs the day after the election, i was reading thru comments and noticed that one man (someone i know loosely, as he is a bud of someone else i know loosely and who both live in arkansas) had pasted the exact same set of questions in every left leaning comment section he could find. he, of course, is just a sore loser. sadly he's someone with a modicum of intelligence who ignorantly clings to ultra-conservative ideals, much like my own father. i won't give his name or link to him (he doesn't even have a political blog but rather a "health" blog), but i will copy and paste (much like he did all over the place) his "genuine" questions. Obama supporters got their man. A few questions: What now is the role of the U.S. military in the world? How, specifically, will the Obama administration help the economy? Will Obama, unlike Bill Clinton, follow through with his tax cut to the middle class? Will Obama, Pelosi and Reid truly govern from the center? George Miller, who heads the House committee that deals with 401(k)s, wants to eliminate this tax subsidy. He and others want to put this all under Social Security, and let the government take control of it. Will this be attractive to the Obama administration? (The mainstream media did not talk about this issue during the campaign.) After the announcement that Obama had won the election, why were some of his supporters outside the White House carrying the Soviet flag? Finally, during the last couple of years, Obama has been pouring honey in so many people’s ears. During his acceptance speech at Grant Park in Chicago, why did he begin to lower the expectations of his administration? Obama - “The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term.” And this also from Obama’s Grant Park speech: Obama - “There will be setbacks and false starts… We know the government can’t solve every problem… Above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation.” Obama campaigned on Hope and Change. Reality is now setting in. Thank you in advance, for truthfully answering these questions two people addressed his questions in vague, "you've got to be kidding me, just get over it" tones, reminding him that we've had to suck up the last eight years while bush supporters mindlessly drank that kool-aid. however, at one blog where he posted, another commenter came along and answered all his questions, in order, one by one. I'm glad you asked those questions, so here's my response in the order you put them. Role of US Military: Oh, I'm sure it will be around for a little bit longer before it's disbanded and we surrender to the Islamic terrorists and other extremists around the world. Liberals like Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt and John F Kennedy are like that, you know. Economy: All economists point to a growing recession and possible global depression. Obama will no doubt nationalize all industry, including the financial institutions, banks, insurance companies, and the "big 3" automakers before making us all wear the same grey uniform and red star lapel pins. Oh, wait, George already did most of that for him, so we can go ahead and get in line for the pins and uniforms. Pelosi, Reid, and Obama's government: Well, Pelosi IS from San Francisco and you know what that means...Sourdough in all the bread lines! As we all know, the Democrats in congress are ready to push for the legalization of human-to-animal marriages, so I for one am looking forward to marrying my neighbor's Shihtsu. George Miller/Mainstream Media: well, this is a new one on me, but I'm sure that once we're all in the grey uniforms working at nationalized factories, 401(k)s will not be necessary, so YES! Socialize it all!. Oh, and the Mainstream Media is OBSESSED with covering up Obama's nefarious past, that's why you've never heard of "radical madrassas," Bill Ayers, or Jeremiah Wright. Supporters with Soviet Flags: Why were there McCain supporters showing up to Palin rallies with Confederate Flags? Maybe there was a sale and the flags were really cheap. Honey-eared people: Hmm, well, I'm sure he means that we'll have to take our time rounding up "Real" Americans and putting them in a Gulag somewhere in Alaska where they will work for the state (or be turned into food, especially their babies - YUM!) Thanks for the "Serious" questions and I hope my "Answers" clarified some things. ~Michael Man, I love snarky and these answers just cracked me up. being the curious person i am, i floated over to his blog and had a look around. Michael is an intellectual historian who served under Colin Powell while in the Joint Chiefs of Staff and who speaks about three or four languages (one of them being Arabic) so if you're so inclined, check out his blog Fearless History.
