2009-05-08 2:52 PM tick tick tick i was asked to do a fact sheet on surgically induced premature menopause. well, there's only one surgery that causes that...hysterectomy.
now, i've been fighting premature menopause not for surgerial reasons, but because of medications i've been forced to take for my crohn's. bitch editor didn't like it. wanted more symptoms. really, i think we all should know the symptoms of menopause by now. so i rewrote it, told her this was my experience, and other's experences and that i did my research on it and basically told her if she doesn't like it, well then so be it. i'm coming from a place of experience. not just mine, but others as well. we'll see. she didn't like my "references" either, which is kind of funny because i've never been accused of using "wrong" references (meaning uh, references not within their community...well, maybe if they told me what references were ok within their community i would have used them) i'm ticked. i have a feeling this is one hateful editor that gave me "advice" on my first piece and then rejected it anyway. that piece and surely this one, will be rejected. funny, i haven't had to rewrite anything else i wrote for them. anyhow, i have about 4 more to do so we'll see how that goes.
