unbelievable

where i grew up, in oh so glorious (sarcasm) arkansas the po-po could be, well, nasty. they pulled me over a week before my wedding because my husband's hat was on backwards. they've stopped him as he was walking down the street to tell him to turn his hat around and a security guard in a little rock mall stopped him and told him to turn his hat around. they would make you step out of the car (that you're not driving) in order to arrest you for public drunk. the cops there, to say the least, were assholes and drunk with power.

charlotte, the cops seemed really nice considering the city was 5+ times as big. i watched cops drive a drunk man home instead of give him a public drunk charge. ok, ok, the 10 cops shooting the guy on I-85 for resisting arrest and threatening them with a wrench was a little overboard, but all in all, they seemed like a nice bunch.

i've always thought the cops here were pretty nice. my neighbor got nasty with them more than a few times, and they only threatened her with jail, but never took her. they did haul scotty off, but they were nice to him (even let him sit in a chair) before they did. they've been called to a few of our parties, but always told us just to quiet down and then left.

So last night i took the puppy to sam and nick's. we were sitting there, danny, nick, sam and i, chatting. nick was sitting in the far corner on the other side of the porch from me, really, not saying a word. we had just had a discussion previously where he said he liked to sit over there and just listen. that's the whole reason he sits there, because he likes to listen and observe.

i hadn't been there 5 mins and i saw two sheriff deputies coming our way and said as much. he couldn't see them and they couldn't see him. i couldn't even see him on the same porch as i because he was sitting in the opposite corner in the dark. the two deputies walked directly up to him, said he was violating his probation by drinking (beer) cuffed him and took him away.

because we weren't even being loud, i asked the them, "who called and complained?" the deputy told me, "i can't give you that information, ma'am"

i was dumbfounded. i've never seen anything like that in my life. dude is sitting in a dark corner, minding his own business and two cops who couldn't even see him when they headed our way, walked directly up to him, in a dark corner, and arrest him. they knew he was sitting there.

why didn't they come night before last, when they were kind of loud? (i went home early, because i couldn't take listening to loud pam talk in my ear, but i still heard them at 11:00 p.m. when i took the puppy out)why last night? and how did they know where he was sitting?

something smells fishy here.

I was sitting there, i witnessed it and i don't know what happened. i've never in my life seen anything like that. and this morning, i still can't believe it happened.

we think it's the crazy little girl who's been hassling them lately. she called the police on them the other day (when she was instigating) and indeed it was two of the same cops who arrested him last night. i told them that little girl was trouble. little girls usually are. and when tracy finds out, ooooo, that little girl is going to be in more trouble than she bargained for.

lord, i hate drama.

so today, at 1, i have to take sam to the jail to see nick. they keep telling me where it is and i still have no idea. it's in a place i've never even heard of.

nick's little brother is livid over this because nick honestly didn't do anything...so little bro is going to buy them a condo down the street (geez, i need a little brother like that)

all that aside, hey, julie, i got pics of my neighbor's bunnies. i'll post them soon.
