2010-01-12 7:03 PM colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra one of my friends from high school used to use that term and it seems fitting in central florida, where the sun is always suppose to shine and tourists come down for the warm sunny weather over christmas break. although it is humorous to see the tourists come down in the shorts and flip flops expecting warm weather only to find it frighteningly cold. ok, i have to snicker at that just a tiny bit.
it's been cold, kids. i mean cold. for god's sake we even had sleet and *gasp* flurries. that's right, children, we got flurries. what? i've been bundled up which is pretty hard to do when you pack away your winter gear thinking you won't really need it. because we sit between a river and the ocean, imagine what the wind brings...COLD. and it's been hellaciously windy. lake effect? hell, let's talk ocean effect. it was so cold and windy one night, the electric bugged out on us in the middle of the night. thank god i have a canine furnace. the electric and internet has been bugging out on us quite a bit. i have friends (yes, i still do have a few) who have lived here all their lives or who have been here for over 20 years and they claim the last time a cold snap like this hit the area was back in the 80's. The 80's? one of the worst decades (yet ahead of the 70's) known to mankind. just my luck. and even the new yorkers (of which i am surrounded by many) are dismayed. luckily, we're on an upswing in temps. i expect the usual cold snap to hit us again in Feb, where it should be. ;-) Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
