We have something of a musical divide in our family. I seem to have gotten the music gene-although neither of my parents has it as strongly as either my sister or myself. Phil, on the other hand, not so musical, especially when it comes to singing in tune. He could learn, I'm sure of it, but it's not so natural for him.

A few months ago, one of LB's buddies sang Happy Birthday for something and I was amazed at his ability to sing, clearly and carry a tune and everything.

It's too early to tell, but LB had so far shown NO signs of musical ability. He'd "sing" songs, but they were spoken word.

A few days ago, I was delighted when he sang the ABC song. He had the mostly correct pitches on the various parts and everything.

Joy joy joy, my son can sing!! He may still not be the most musical person ever, but it's a start.
