I never knew there was so much bad feeling about dragonflies in folklore. I'd been told as a child that they'd sew up your mouth and eyelids, and had heard them called "debbil (devil) horses" in the local patois; apparently it's from the Norse mythos. Who knew.

Meantime, we're waiting to see if any of the writer's group will show up. It may quickly be a group of two. We're still wondering what happened to the people who said they'd be here last week and were never heard from again. Nibbled to death by Okapis? Probably nothing quite so fun.

As you've probably read on Andreas's journal, it's diet time again. I've been trying exercising at least 4x/week and cutting out processed sugars, anything breaded, bread, etc., keeping around 50 carbs/day, but it's not working. So it's Atkins time again. Need to lose: 26 lbs. Carbs for the day: 10 so far. (20 max)

Currently Reading: "Dance, Dance, Dance" by Haruki Murakami.

Recommend: a good browse through the Old Testament. Good story material.
