The official First Bee of the Year was spotted earlier in the week. I saw the First Dragonfly, but Andreas wins...he spotted the First Hummingbird of the Year. I haven't seen it yet, but I *did* get chittered at. I took it to mean, "Where's my feeder?" The sugar water is cooling right now. Andreas had originally wanted me to set out the feeders for the bumblebee who was looking forlorn yesterday, but I figured hey, there's about a thousand blueberry flowers going begging, he can work for his food. Lazy sots.

In other less than exciting news, ginger honey is really neat stuff, rice cookers are spiffy (don't even thing of buying one at an Asian market -- I do NOT get why something that looks just like my $20 cooker costs about $120), and mochi is excellent. Yay.
