Dear World:

"29 mpg" is not something to be whispered in the same reverential hush as "Italian leather seats". 35 mpg does not, despite those Saturn commercials, mean that you'll never have to fill up your gas tank again. 60 mpg is pretty good. 100 or so would be nice.

Spiders, with the exception of certain death-inducing ones, are not the enemy. No, really. Don't look at me like that. Also, giving the death penalty for a home invasion is a bit extreme. Heck, the SWAT team was a bit much.

More people are riding buses, but they're barely breaking even because of gas prices. So, logically, why not get buses with better gas mileage? Or, and I know this is freaky, a commuter rail with secure parking?

Hurricanes and rising gas prices are not Teh End Times. They may, however, be an indication that maybe, just maybe, we need a more secureable, renewable, don't-have-to-go-to-war-able source of energy/fuel.

If you were on a plane and the woman behind you had a heart attack, do not expect sympathy from me because you were soooo inconvenienced by it. Comments like "who are these people who get on planes and have heart attacks" will not endear you to me.

Sincerely,
Ah, who cares...
