This will be an abbreviated day because I'm doing an book signing at the Wayne State University bookstore in Detroit this afternoon. Besides, it's a Friday in July. Who am I going to be able to get hold of to interview?

So I took Frodo for a walk this morning. Over vacation Frodo was dubbed "The Pudgy Puppy of Doom" by my sons, although I counter that Frodo isn't particularly pudgy. He's about 84 pounds, a chocolate Lab mix and with about 3 walks a day with the occasional run with my wife, he gets plenty of exercise. He's not fat. I'm more fond of calling him, "The Dorky Dog of Doom," and no one would argue with me that he isn't a dork. My sons will occasionally ask, "Dad, is Frodo stupid?" To which I usually reply, "No, he's a dog." Neither dumb or smart, just a dog, which brings its own alien intelligence with it.

So, should I get some work done this morning, it ought to be writing a draft of an article about teenagers with migraines, editing an interview I did with Joe (JA) Konrath, and working on the re-write of The Serpent's Kiss. I also need to deposit a check at the credit union. If I'm not organized, I will have blogged.

Best,
Mark Terry
