I posted this earlier in response to Eric's comment that his father painted and people would ask him how long it took and he said 2 hours to paint the picture and 30 years to learn how. Yes, there's the parable about the Emperor or king who hires the greatest artist in the country to draw his portrait for a large sum of money. The artist, an old man, arrives, studies the king, and draws a quick sketch that is remarkable in its simplicity and honesty and accuracy. The king loves the drawing, but is angry that it only took the artist 3 minutes to draw it when he's paying him so much money.
