Yeah, that break from fiction sure lasted a long time. Let's see, hmmm, 48 hours? Yep. Well, you've finished the latest novel, and it needs to be proofed, but you've got a pretty busy week ahead, so why don't you just put it aside for a week or so. And sure enough, 2 days later, you've already worked 9 hours straight on other projects, and there it is, in a nice box, open, the manuscript just waiting for you, all those nice clean pages, calling to you: "Mark, Mark, don't abandon us! Read us, read us, read us!" So you start proofing. And your mind turns to the rough draft of "Angels Falling" that's also in a pile on your desk, and there's that short story, "11 Minutes," that you started... HELP ME! I admit that I am helpless in the face of my creativity addiction and will turn it over to a higher power (like who? The New York Times Book Review?). Aaaaaaaarrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
