There's a link up there at the top of the page to something called Cakelove. I just thought I'd plug.

Cakelove is a very successful confectionary business run by Warren E. Brown, a.k.a. "Web". I met Web about 4 years ago when I was living in DC. I first encountered his cakes at a Playboy Mansion dress up party. He brought bundt cake for all the bunnies and Hefner wannabes to sample. After that, I went to a cake tasting party at his house where I met a lot of interesting people and ate equally as interesting cake. Fast forward and now Web has two shops in this very up and coming part of DC.

Web's come a long way. When I first met him, he was making cakes out of his cramped little third floor apartment at 14th and Belmont Road. You would email his hotmail account and he'd make you your cake and hand deliver it to you in his Toyota pickup. It was fabulous. He once delivered to my work at 13th and Pennsylvania. At that point, his cakes were just as good but they were much cheaper than they are now. I guess the stores have a lot of overhead or something.

Web has been in the media a lot. He's been on Oprah a lot. Of course, Oprah exposure created a fervor at the stores in DC.

Just thought I'd explain the cake link.
