Turning in fully clothed

I live in a drafty house. If you stand 12 inches from any window, you can feel the cold air entering the house where it sinks low to create cold floors, cold feet, and, eventually, grumpy, chilled tenants.

I actually went outside for a walk the other night and upon leaving the house I was surprised that it was actually warmer outside than inside my house.

Bedtime is a challenge. I can't put on enough clothes. I don't like sleeping this way, like I am a bound up mummy or something. I don't even wake up warm in the middle of the night. But a good way to retain heat in the bed I've learned, apart from having someone next to you, is to take extra pillows and lay them around your sides. That's awfully comfortable, too. Just the thought of it is causing me to *yawn*. Still, it's not quite enough to overcome the chilly bedroom environment I suffer in right now.

I am thinking about getting an electric blanket. I was looking at them on ebay tonight. They are now called "warming blankets". I guess some marketing genius figured out people are adverse to the term electric blanket or something. Too similar to "electric chair", perhaps?

Does anyone use an EB/EWB? I just get giddy at the thought of turning it on while I get ready for bed and returning to my room and the bed is nice and toasty. And being able to sleep in any kind of attire I want despite the frigid house conditions would be neat.

Well, such pleasures will have to wait for now.
