2005-11-06 11:12 AM Since she died Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (0) It's been about 3 weeks since I did her in. I've been able to get on with my life, although things are certainly a little different. My life is less inspired in terms of applying theme music to my everyday typical activities.
Yes, I am still forlorn about my ipod. The good news is that the ipod craze, despite what Apple is telling us, seems to have fallen into a complacent slumber as of late. The ipod Nano, which debuted just before my ipod checked out, hasn't seemed to sustain it's fervor that everyone was so certain about. Perhaps it will heat up again very shortly in time for the holiday rush, but who really knows, and who really cares. Oh, that's right...I care. In fact, I am going to try and wiggle a new ipod Photo/Video out of my folks come Christmas. I don't really NEED it, and my life is probably safer WITHOUT it, but they are always looking for something nice to give me over the holidays. Usually, I don't have any ideas and I end up with some jewelry my mother bought in Venice over the fall (which means there's only a 50% chance it will be something I'd wear). The problem with this procurement strategy is as follows: I also need something else MORE than the ipod and that something else is also somewhat pricey. So, naturally, I've developed a long-term plan to get both items. I already asked for the thing I need (which is a new school bag...my Canadian backpack I purchased in 2000 is about kaput, hmm I'll miss it). I want some type of heavy duty bag that won't give me long term back problems from using it to haul 20-25 pounds of school related materials on my bike. So I'm looking, but they all are running around $100-$125. This gets a little tricky. You see, I am nearing 30. I wonder how long my ability to carry out this kind of maneuver will last without coming off as gauche. We shall see. Until then. And start thinking about your Santa lists as well!
