I sent an e-mail to Paul, the novelist, to see how the meeting went last week with the two LA producers. Apparently all went well, and the project is still moving forward. According to Paul, the next thirty days will show us if John can deliver the development money or not. Paul is also confident that John is sincere, which gives me a bit more faith in my decision to trust him.

But, as with most things, time will tell. In the meanwhile, I'll continue working on a World War II movie that's shaping up very nicely.

Next Tuesday evening I'm attending a mixer with several hundred different assistants (if the organizers are accurate with their figures). These are people who work primarily in the TV world -- assistants to agents, producers, executives, etc. It could be a good opportunity to make some more connections. Besides, the last mixer I attended took this adaptation project to a whole new level. Who knows what the possibilities are for this one?
