I received a call back from John (the producer) who wanted to update me on how my material is with Herm and Bernie, his producing buddies. Herm apparently really likes the scripts.

Sidebar: allow me a brief moment to feel the relief that an independent third party has validated my talent. Until I start making a living at writing, these moments are something to appreciate, however briefly.

So, Herm's a happy reader, what about Bernie? Well, Bernie hasn't read the scripts yet, but he's a very old, good friend of my soon-to-be-retired agent Fred. John urged me to call Fred to let him know that Bernie has my script and maybe establish some personal contact there. I will do so, since it's time for me to tell Fred that I am finding/have found new representation, so that if he wants, he can call Bernie on my behalf.

It's all about who knows who you know.
