I haven't posted much for the past couple of months, mostly because I've been in the same-old, same-old pattern of queries, some calls (not enough) but mostly writing. The fruits of that labor are now coming to life in the form of an online business.

The impetus for this venture came from a suggestion that I write short scenes for actors to use in their demo reels. Scenes that have few characters, simple locations, few effects, and that feature the actors as stars. The viewer of these scenes (agents and managers) should believe that the scene was taken from a full feature and that the actor starred in this film.

I thought it was a good idea, and I found it fun to write these short scenes. It's quite challenging to have both limitations and infinite possibilities. Yes, I'm constrained by financial considerations for the actors, but I don't have to worry about large story arcs, plot twists, etc.

Twenty-five (almost twenty-six) scenes later, Demo Reel Scenes was born. Thanks to the Bizhosting.com service, I am now a small business. I have paperwork in process for the official "doing business as" notices, and hope to soon advertise online, through various resources I know here, and with acting schools. I have many plans to expand, so we'll see how it goes!
