2003-12-14 8:49 PM Interview Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Feeling good Jennise and I had our interview with WB today, and I think we did well. If it was a job interview, I would say that I strongly feel I have the job.
We made them laugh at times, we conveyed the important information that we needed to convey -- we like the creative process, we're easy to work with, we take comments, we understand the reality of the TV world, we like the change that's inherent in the TV landscape, and we can carry an intelligent conversation. One thing that suprised us is that the selection folks were surprised to see that two women wrote a Smallville. In their experience, women don't write for action or science fiction. That caught us completely off-guard because we're so sci-fi/action oriented. They're not dragging their feet on the process. They'll be making their decisions tomorrow. The workshop starts on January 7, and the attendees will rewrite the scripts they submitted, after getting studio notes. We'll do another script towards the end of the program, then the workshop folks try to get their attendees writing jobs. Last year, 8 of 12 of their attendees ended up on television staff. That's impressive to me, considering that last year was apparently a particularly difficult year getting new writers staffed. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
