That's pretty much what I've been up to lately. I have a sci-fi feature that's still in progress (but last night I had an "ah-hah" moment with the point at which I've stalled). I went to Comic-con with an eye to networking, and managed to do so successfully (and had fun at the same time). My writing partner and I decided at the somewhat-last-minute to write a new spec script for the Warner Bros. Writers Workshop. This time, we did a mainstream procedural drama for our portfolio (Without A Trace). We're of the opinion that it came out rather well -- we'll see what WB thinks, and what Jo-Ann thinks. Along the "fishing" lines, I've been actively seeking out opportunities on Craigslist. No great responses yet, but I think it's more of a matter of my material not matching the requested needs very well. Oh, and my partner and I havve gotten Main Street (our original spec) to a bigwig at CBS, and Jo-Ann is finally forwarding the synopsis of Spacetime, Inc (my sci-fi work in progress) to Lightstorm. Oh, and I'm still working on the showcase with my friend here at WB. She's got a very good musical director (he's currently working with the LA Opera and has many other notable playing credits), and next Tuesday we're going to sit down and see where we're at, and perhaps decide on the approach to the script part of it.
