2004-11-08 2:15 PM Screenwriting Expo (part 2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Erudite discussions of plot, theme, and character aside, there’s a lot of potential for getting some valuable contacts out of the Expo. Namely:
I chatted for a bit with someone from the WB Writers Workshop that I met last year, who remembered the script Jennise and I submitted. That was a pleasant conversation, which can’t hurt when it comes to meeting her later (yeah, I’m assuming we get to that stage) for this year’s workshop. I had a long and very pleasant conversation with a manager who was introduced to me by a friend of a friend, and who’s looking at repping one-hour TV writers. She’s willing to look at Jennise and I for management. It’s something we’ve been batting around; adding a manager to our team. Yes, it means an additional fee once we do get staffed, but x% of nothing (our current status) is nothing. Finally, through a friend, I’m hoping to reconnect with someone who critiqued a Buffy I wrote several years ago, and who’s now a steady working TV writer. It’s a connection that I would definitely like to re-make, so I forwarded an e-mail to this individual. So, overall, I’m not willing to say that the Expo was brilliant or disastrous for me. More accurately, it’s somewhere in the middle, and we shall see what I can make of it. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
