So I have taken my first big-writer step and advised Jo-Ann that I don't need her services any longer. I'm now "between agents," although firmly ensconced with enthusiastic managers in whom I have high hopes.

It was a big step for me, accomplished by a very simple letter (as advised by my mangers and my mentor). It was made much easier by the fact that it's been since December (I think) since she last spoke with me, and now is the time to be pushing for TV staffing season.

Speaking of which, Jennise and I finished the first draft of our Joan, which we gave to the managers on Sunday night. Preliminary reports back are very favorable -- he really liked it, no major changes, just some minor notes, and he thinks we captured Joan's voice well.

Of the four scripts we've collaborated on, this is probably our least favorite, so I'm very glad that didn't show in the final product!
