The Return director, Brian, had asked me on Monday to read a couple of my scripts -- an old Outer Limits that I did (a first contact scenario) and Spacetime. I have no qualms about people reading my stuff -- the more eyes that see it the better!

He read them both within the space of a day. Today he called to say he likes them, and he wants to talk more to me about writing a sci-fi feature in the 200-300k independent range for something for him to produce, possibly based on a couple of ideas that he has. He just wanted to know if I'm interested in doing something like that, and I said I'm definitely interested in hearing more about what he's thinking.

I'll meet with him on Monday night to talk; no promises, just an exploration to see what's what. He's had experience financing and producing material in Chicago, and his primary interest would be to get something made, which would have a high enough production value that a small project would lead to a bigger project (et cetera).

One of the reasons that *he* got involved with the Return project was that he wanted to get connected and to find a writer to work with. We get along on a personal level, and my writing has the same sensibilities as his directing desires, so we shall see what comes of this.
