I work in an area where security is fairly high. Access to the area is governed by our ID cards -- if I go to the restroom and forget my ID, I have to make a long loop past reception in order to get back to my desk. We have several consultants on our floor who I only know by sight -- I've never interacted with them at all. I'm sure they only know me by sight, and since I've never worked with them they know I'm not a Big Cheese around here. They get ID cards, but I don't think they have door access -- they always have to do the loop to get back into the area. I was on my way back from the restroom and I passed one of the consultants. I asked if he wanted to be keyed in. His response was no, followed by a very soft, hurried explaination of what meeting he was off to. The response amused my writer brain in a character development way. Just out of curiosity, given what you have, what assumptions would make about this character if you came across him in a novel or film?
