I wish everyone who stumbles across this journal a happy holiday season.

I gave an author a Christmas present today by accepting a work of his for Lone Star Stories. It's sort of fantastic horror set in Austin, Texas -- good stuff and an excellent start in my target of five stories for the February 1, 2004 issue. I've received five submissions so far, four of which have been rejected, and I look forward to reading through more.

I have no writing news to report with all of the holiday-related visiting and activities going on right now, but I'm thinking of a children's story of all things. Whether I actually turn those thoughts into written words remains to be seen.
