I started giving serious thought to a new idea for Lone Star Stories today. I'm considering adding one story (an obscure one, ideally) involving Texas per issue by an author who has passed on, thereby continuing to expose the author's work to new readers (at least potentially new readers). I will likely limit the works to those in the public domain for now, but that may change over time.

I have not received any submissions for Lone Star Stories in several days, which is beginning to concern me. I've always wondered if I chose too specific a theme, but I'm not sure how I would broaden it without losing the identity of the webzine. I really like the stories I've chosen for the first issue, but the well may be drying up.

I've not received any responses to my own submissions in some time, and I'm getting antsy. I hate waiting to hear about my stories, which is why I make a point of responding to submissions to Lone Star Stories within a day or two of receipt.
On the writing end of things, I began creating a Texas town today where the strange and the fantastic are commonplace. If I continue, it may become the setting for several stories. It should be fun.
