I managed to write about 600 words or so in a short story I revived today. I'm not sure where the tale is headed, but I like the way it has started. It's set in my made-up Texas town of Witt Valley, a place that changes its character and feel with each word I write in the story I'm presently shaping.

I have no news to report on the Lone Star Stories end of things, nor anything official regarding my own fiction and poetry submissions. I have waited several days for a response to my Jack and Jill story from a market known for day or two responses, so I'm beginning to wonder if the story might find a home there. My first sale at professional rates would certainly be nice, but I'm not counting on it.

I've had one strong bite regarding my collaborative story idea from Joseph Haines, and I hope to hear from more writers. It should be fun, folks!
