I requested a rewrite of a Lone Star Stories submission for the first time tonight. I liked the story for the first half a lot, but it dragged on well past its natural stopping point. So, I let the writer know that a substantial rewrite would interest me. I doubt that the drastic changes I suggested will be accepted, but if they are, I'll definitely look at the story again.

One of my little "word of the week" stories received a cold reception from Strange Horizons today, so I need to find a new market for it. Ponder, ponder.

Tonight, I'm posting a story in the Critical MS workshop for critiquing, and I'm looking forward to the input. We have a great group of writers who are unafraid to share their likes and dislikes with each other. I'm honored to be a part of it.
