2006-01-19 10:18 AM Rich Horton's Favorite Short Fiction of 2005 Rich Horton has listed his favorite short fiction (novellas to short stories in print and electronic format) of 2005 here, and I was very happy to see that Sarah Prineas' "A Treatise on Fewmets" (Lone Star Stories No. 10), Samantha Henderson's "Five Ways Jane Austen Never Died" (Fortean Bureau), and Jenn Reese's "Tales of the Chinese Zodiac" (a set of thematically connected flash pieces published througout 2005) (Strange Horizons) are on Rich's long list of possible short story Hugo nominations. Yay for Sarah, Sam, and Jenn! :-)
I was also extremely pleased to see "The Nursemaid's Suitor" by Charles Coleman Finlay (Black Gate) and "The Clock King and the Queen of the Hourglass" by Vera Nazarian (PS Publishing) listed under the novella category, as well as "Wax" by Elizabeth Bear (Interzone) and "To Live Forever" by Jay Lake (Challenging Destiny) in the novelette category. Way to go, Charles, Vera, Bear, and Jay! :-) Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
