you know me, I hate everyone --Wish --Nine Inch Nails So I'm tooling along working listening to the dual CDs from NIN's new live album (I miss Chris Vrenna }:<)when I get this e-mail from one of the supervisors that we are effectively, and until further notice, expected to put in a heck of a lot overtime. Mandatory like. I have to complete four hours by Saturday. (Would be Sunday, but I refuse to work on Sundays.) Next week it's eight hours. There was no end date stated. The reason seems spurious, we were assured that our queue was looking better and better, and now it's all about how pathetically behind we are. WTF? Oh and I'm not a content consultant anymore, I'm an assistant editor. What the fuck ever. I've been an editor for almost sixteen months now. Call it different things isn't going to change anything. Only I better get a fucking promotion. I don't really have time to write so I don't really have time to go into *all* the things that annoy me here. But you'll be hearing about this more. Trust me. In the time of been here I couldn't begin to count the number of times we've been given "faulty information" (aka been lied to) and had promises of niceness to come only to have it be yanked away. I thought the last few months of relative quiet indicated that the higher ups were finally attaining some kind of balance and not freaking out at every little thing. Turns out, they just were looking for new ways to be stupid. Unfortunately, I think that if I posted everything I'd get sued, fired and possibly jailed. None of which I particularly want. But I'm pissed. If you couldn't tell. *sigh* Lesson of the quarter: If you make rules stricter so clients have to work harder at getting what they want, LESS Clients Will GET WHAT THEY WANT!! no shit? No shit, Sherlock! motherfuckers Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
