2002-06-14 12:00 PM Falling in Love Again Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: amused damn but there's a lot of songs on thsi topic. Almost as many (and almost as good) as the breaking up songs. Unsurprisingly, though, the artists that I like the most tend to write more when things are going wrong. The artists I tend to hate the most write about hooking up more, or so it seems.
So here are some artists who I don't hate who came up with some good shit. Or at least I like singing it in the shower. PJ Harvey's last album, Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea came out in October 2000, but I didn't know that until last spring (because KROQ is a bunch of wankers and I have little patience for Morning become Eclectic, though I listened when Nic Harcourt hosted PJ after her U2 concert). I got it in the spring but didn't really listen to it until the following fall and it provided a frighteningly accurate soundtrack to my life right then. A Perfect Circle is Maynard James Keenan's side-project when he just wants to write a pop song rather than a complex introspective piece for his other band, Tool. It is still extremely good (light years ahead of any typical pop/rock band) and Mer de Noms is a wonderful album to rock out to and just...enjoy. This is Love PJ Harvery I can't believe life's so complex When I just wanna' sit here and watch you undress This is love This is love This is love that I'm feeling Does it have to be a life full of dread?
