"Lovesong," The Cure "Maggie's Farm," Rage Against the Machine "Another Day," This Mortal Coil "Can't Stop and Won't Stop," Cypress Hill "El Genio del Dub," Blanquito Man & Control Machete "Subliminal," They Might Be Giants I'd rather be: in sunny southern California Aches and Complaints: that time of the month it's not like anyone will read before ripping off... makes me think I should just write down the craziest thing I can think of. But I'm really too bored. Stolen from many places: 20 years ago I... (1985) 1. was a student in second grade at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Placentia, CA 2. regularly got teased because of...whatever. I was an easy target for reasons I still don't understand. 3. wished and prayed that I'd wake up one morning with blond hair and blue eyes (didn't think about wishing/praying for pale milk white skin until later) 10 years ago I... (1995) 1. was wrapping up my senior year at Fullerton Union High School 2. Wrapping consisted almost entirely of lazing about in class (if not cutting entirely) because we were pretty much finished with the curriculum that culiminated with AP and IB testing. We all knew where we we were going to go to college.... 3. was sent to Saturday school (weekend detention) for cutting class to protest Prop 187 eventhough I cut my participation in the protest in time to return to fifth period to take up my position as lead "prosecutor" in a pretend trial of President Truman for the alleged war crime of using the A-bomb in WWII. 5 years ago I... (2000) 1. spent the first nine months (plus the previous six)without a permanant job which drove me to a keen depression 2. started working for a struggling start up company called GoTo.com. It had pioneered pay-for-placement search marketing but the dotcom bust was threatening the existence of the business. (A few multi million dollar partnerships later and we've been bought by Yahoo. Very technically I now work for Yahoo! Search Marketing.) 3. uhm. I dunno... due to unemployment moved out of an East LA place back in with my parents. 3 years ago I... (2002) 1. all of my friends were suddently in a hurry to move to PA! (or so it seemed) 2. got trained on excel and a bunch of crazy internal process and my title went from copy editor to copywriter. 3. Got to watch fireworks on 4 July sitting on the bank in front of the Pentagon with feet dangling over the Patomac. That night we went to a strip club. 1 year ago I... (2004) 1. not only did I see snow and good friends, I rode through a blizzard with a dear friend driving. 2. attended the Gathering of Nations. 3. went to Korea. So far this year I... (2005) 1. moved to Long Beach. 2. kicked my fear of strangers in the jimmy and headed out to do some theatre "networking" 3. did a whirlwind East coast tour to see friends and the sites of Harrisburg, PA (amish!), NYC (Manhattan!), & Boston (Boston!) Yesterday I... 1. worked out for a solid hour on the elliptical machine at work, it said I covered 4.8 miles when done. 2. felt more relaxed about my relationship with Molasses than I have in ages. 3. played D&D for the first time with my shiney new level of wizard (and the good old five levels of rogue). Today I... 1. pondered all the WTFs in my world 2. will be stuck at my desk with no time to exercise which is just as well because, for lack of anything else to wear, I'm in a skirt and heeled boots 3. will hopefully get to meet a dear friend for coffee or tea after work Tomorrow I will... 1. come back to work. Hopefully in clothes that will allow for exercise as well as being decent for work. 2. hopefully make a Forsaken character 3. get caught up with work stuff & send out email to theatres In the next year I will... 1. probably move but I'm not sure if I'll be staying in Long Beach yet. 2. possibly take a different job in the South Bay if a good one presents itself as well as getting some theatre work done. (If not I may end up moving to North Hollywood.) 3. Cement what I want in a romantic life or give up on the concept. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
