2005-12-16 11:51 PM RevGal Friday Five...the Christmas Party Five Questions... 1) Have you ever gotten a really good kiss under the mistletoe?
Sadly no, not even under the fake stuff. I’ve actually never had a boyfriend at Christmas…how deeply pathetic is that? 2) Do you know anyone who makes real eggnog, not the stuff from the carton? And if so, do you actually like it? My uncle K makes his very own recipe…and it is deeply, deeply awful….so strong, so eggy, so creamy…so…gross. 3) What's your favorite Christmas party album/CD ever? Actually, I have a number of faves: Best classic: Nat King Cole; Best one by a great singer who happens to be Jewish: Barbra Streisand’s (first) Christmas Album; Best religious: the 3 Cambridge Singers CD's w/John Rutter conducting; Best funky new one: Ru Paul’s “Ho Ho Ho” (Runner up--"Lounge Christmas"); Best secular Christmas song ever: “Santa Baby” by Ertha Kitt; Best Christmas Duet: Bing and Bowie. 4) Does your office/workplace have a party? Do the people there ever behave the way people in movies behave at office parties, which is to say, badly? No church staff party. I will take the Exec. Asst./Church Sect’y to lunch on Wednesday. 5) If you have to bring something to a party, what is it likely to be? Do people like it? I’m a dessert guy. Usually Texas Tumbleweed Peach Cobbler. I think it’s pretty good, and it tends to disappear. Lately, I’ve also been doing Lemon Bundt Pound Cake…the recipe from America’s Test Kitchen…it disappears in a New York minute.
