The Anglicans are about to gather (in July) for their once a decade confab of Bishops...called the Lambeth Conference.


So...

The Archbishop of Canterbury specifically uninvited openly gay U.S. Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson because his presence would enrage 2/3 World Anglican's, principally those from Africa and Asia.

So...

The BBC reports that the Anglican Church of Uganda will boycott Lambeth because Bishops who voted for Robinson will be present.

So...

Bishops from Nigeria, Kenya, and Rwanda are expected to follow suit and join with the Ungandan bishops and attend an alternative conference in Jerusalem. Altogether, those Bishops represent 30 million Anglicans...or at least half the world-wide membership.

So...

Who is out of the mainstream now? The inclusive Americans and Canadians (who have voted their support of Robinson) or the "my way or the highway" Bishops?

So...

Schism of the Anglican church would be a very, very sad thing....no question about it.

Hasn't it already happened?
